What a week! Five days ago, on Sunday, I took an early flight to Little Rock, AR, for the annual conference of the South Central Chapter of the Medical Library Association. I had the opportunity to network with a lot of great health science librarians, including our former student worker Madison (seen below), and did a lightning presentation on how I use labels in Rayyan. (Side note: How hard is it to limit a presentation to 5 minutes? Very!)

On Tuesday, within an hour of presenting, I’d changed my clothes and headed to the airport for a flight back to Dallas. A colleague in Denton, Kristin, and I had been accepted to present on Wednesday at a virtual conference on libraries and the internet. Not wanting to present from a hotel in Arkansas, I returned early so that I could be in my office for our presentation. Thankfully, our presentation on a 2024 user experience study about the library’s website went off without a hitch.

All things considered, I know I’m lucky to have the opportunity to present on two totally different topics at two different conferences this term. But next time, I’m hoping to have a little more time to recuperate in between.
